(We’re doing 50 Days & 50 Ways to have a merry recycled holiday. More about this….)
A fan of this blog emailed me about my suggestion about using consignment or resale of “extra things”, as she put it, as a budget-enhancer for a Merry Recycled Holiday.
That’s all very fine for most people, she wrote, but my family and I just don’t have extra things we can pass on like this. We’re very careful only to own things we use. So what do I do?
It’s certainly more of a challenge to clear out underused possessions when you are careful about what you buy in the first place. But, oh, it can be done! Watch me as I, the most bare-bones of housekeepers, find (at least) 52 things to meet the 52 Things Challenge!
Then take a look at the final economics of the thing. $163 cash money, not counting the things I gave away. Which, had it been gift-giving season then, would have filled, for free, several requests on my gift list. I mean, who among us doesn’t have a Fairy-bunny-ballerina on her deepest most-secret wish list?
